At Serenity, Inc. we are dedicated to rebuilding a strong foundation for all of our clients while providing an environment that involves support, security, and guidance. Founded in 1997 by our President and CEO, Dr. Roosevelt Cohens, Serenity was built on his dream of providing comprehensive services that will aid men, women, and children seeking a new lease on life.

Our mission is to enrich human potential through building low-income housing, education, counseling, skills training, and workforce development to enhance the quality of life and improve communities. Ultimately producing self-advocacy within individuals for sustainability and healthy livng.

SERVICES
Family and Child Therapy
Helping parents establish paternity through identifying and reducing barriers of engagement with child. Help improve attitudes towards parenting with knowledge of appropriate discipline in child development.
Mentoring
Improve motivation towards emotional well-being through improving the level of self-esteem, and reduction in social alienation. Improve social behaviors such as substance abuse, arrests, and other environmental favtors through the development of positive behaviors with mentorship.
Parenting Skills
To improve and assist parents in child development through positive modeling and other parenting techniques. Encourage parents to take advantage through networking with other parents with similar circumstances as well as continued focus on support groups.
Drug Counseling
To assist clients in becoming self-sufficient in becoming contributing members of their community. Through harm reduction, clients will increase their level of staying clean and sober. Also, through harm reduction client's involvement with criminal justice system will decrease.
Marriage and Relationship Counseling
Assist individuals in developng tools to enjoy a healthier marriage/relationship. Help individuals maintain stronger spousal relationship through enhancement of personl and family skill at work and home, as well as through reduction of at-risk behaviors.
Fatherhood Initiative
Assist parents in establishing paternity through proper channels with the courts. Assist in improving attitudes towards parenting and imporving pre-emptive positive interaction with children.
Anger Management
To provide information of the various forms of anger and perceived responses that most individuals display. Assisting in controlling the physical, psychological, and cognitive anger as a positive response. Using empathy, breathing and relaxation as a positive way to deal with anger and the stress it causes.
Educational Services
To assist individuals with instructions focusing on increasing, expanding, and stabilizing their educational skills for advancement of self and employment opportunities.
Motivational Enhancement
Improve organizational communication and effective listening through positive behavioral modeling with staff and clients.
Life Skills
To improve life skills development, equipping clients with necessary skills needed to succeed in their daily lives such as employment, coaching, and nutrition support.
HIV Services
To provide clients with testing, referrals, and education.

As a community-based organization, Serenity would like to include everyone in aiding with our services and we challenge our communities to do so. Serenity accepts any donations that our communities see as fitting to our services, from food to monetary donations; we are and will be whole-heartedly grateful. As a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductable.
